The Detailed Origin of Ravos

Ravos: A winged warrior and champion of the skies, Ravos stands at the bridge between the earthly realm of Arcanterra and the spirit realm beyond. Born an orphan, Ravos found his way in the world through knowledge. He spent his years as a student of the arts, studying the ways in which the natural world worked. As a graduate of the University, he continued his pursuit of knowledge, eventually coming across the path of Dr. Zaro, a professor specializing in crafting potions. Behind the scenes, however, Dr. Zaro was more interested in how the serums that he was making could interact with natural matter to bridge the gap between the physical and spiritual realm. Ravos was enamored by his work, and soon joined him as an apprentice. Over the following years, the two made massive strides in their research and eventually came to the night that would change the lives of them both forever. As Dr. Zaro went to tip the glass jar to pour the liquid out, Ravos tripped and knocked the jar out of his hand. The potion splattered onto the floor, and as Ravos went to pick up a piece of glass, his hand was cut and the liquid came into contact with his blood. He had thought nothing of it, but that night as he slept, the elixir fused with his blood, and soon he cried out in pain as his body began morphing into the figure he stands as today. Wings broke through from his back and his body began to glow a bright blue. Angered and confused, he stormed through his door, breaking the wall of his house, and made his way towards Dr. Zaro’s lab. Before he could reach his destination, however, he was stopped by a man even larger than himself, carrying a shield and axe. The man instructed Ravos that he had been summoned to the spirit realm, and before he could enact his revenge, he was taken away where he was informed of his unique circumstance. A man of both earthly and spiritual essence, they told him, was meant for more than petty revenge. He was called then to become a guardian of the spirit realm, a sentinel between worlds, where he would train and become strong. Though his longing for revenge has yet to abandon him.
