Lore
Tauronius: During the Age of Formation, as mountains peaked and desert winds blew dunes into the sky, forests took shape and grasslands grew wide. In these seas of green, life began to form, but quickly it grew to be too much for the natural world that was still building itself. So, in the spirit of containing the chaos, Tauronius was awoken. An ancient primordial being meant to serve as protector of all wild creatures, he brought order to the structure of life in the world. Tauronius roamed the forests and grasslands of Arcanterra in order to better understand how he could be of help to the natural world, and with the help of the other primordial beings, was able to suggest a plethora of new creatures that called the world their home. Throughout the Age of Formation, he continued his quest to keep order within the various parts of Arcanterra, and would roam the lands in search of all the places that he felt needed life within them. While unable to create the beings himself, his word carried much weight, and as a guardian of all things living, he was able to influence the world around him to great lengths. During the first Arcan War, he was a pivotal player in protecting the forests from extreme harm and led many attacks against the shadow by calling together large crowds of beasts, both natural and mythical, to fight for the cause of the living. He remained true to his heart throughout the following ages as well, continuing his quest to preserve and safeguard the natural world of Arcanterra. During the second Arcan War, he set up base in the hills below Tyrol, acting as the frontline between the enemy and the realm. For his participation in the war, he was given the title, “The Horned Vanguard” and was honored, for the first time publicly, as a hero. Not willing to remain in the spotlight any further, Tauronius traveled back to his homestead in the mountains north of Drydion and remained there for the next hundred years, where he, allegedly, made friends with the dragons that survived in secret, learning their language and how to use fire magic. He now sits at the Spine of the World, overlooking the natural world of Arcanterra, where he awaits his next challenge to further the goals of protecting the realm from those who would wish it harm.
